Enjoy the sunset from the top of the world’s most accessible volcano!

The tour start time changes to accommodate the changing senset time:

Summer tour occurs between 1 September and 31 May starts at 4:30pm at the volcano entrance.
Winter tour occurs between 1 June and 31 August starts at 4:00pm at the volcano entrance.

Please bring warm clothes as it can be windy and cold on top of the volcano. We provide helmets, rain coats and goggles. Your lead guide will give you the safety briefing at the entrance. Then you will jump in the back of a truck for the 10-15 minute drive up to the volcano, the road is paved for some of the way but it can be a bumpy ride at times.

It is a five to ten minute walk to the rim of the volcano. It is a slightly steep and uneven path so if you expect that you will have difficulty please let us know in advance so our guides can provide the appropriate assistance.

At the top there are different viewing points that your guides will take you to depending on the weather and visibility.

You will spend approximately 2 hours at the top then get back in the same truck for the return trip to the entrance.

Parents/caregivers need to take responsibility for their children at all times. It is not recommended that children under the age of 6 are taken on this tour. Child care at the entrance at the base of the volcano can be arranged for a small fee so parents/caregivers and older children can enjoy the volcano experience.
